The Best Places to Shop in London

Lost your shopping mojo? Spent way too much time scrolling online, only to see the same stuff over and over again? Everyone seems to be wearing the same uniform, and you’re craving something fresh, unique, and totally YOU.

Well, put down your phone, grab your comfiest shoes, and let’s go shopping, the old-fashioned way. London is packed with incredible boutiques just waiting to be discovered, and trust me, fashion has never been more exciting.

This is my personal guide to the best London boutiques for womenswear and accessories, places that get my heart racing and my wardrobe thanking me. Ready? Let’s go!

South London Gem: D.A.Y Boutique

Kicking things off in my local stomping ground—Bellenden Road in Peckham. D.A.Y Boutique is run by three fabulous sisters, Disha, Apee, and Yukti (hence the name, D.A.Y). Since opening in 2018, it’s been the go-to for under-the-radar brands, effortless styling, and that little thrill of finding something special.

First thing you notice? The dreamy scent of Earl of East candles wafting through the air. Then, Apee’s warm welcome and big smile make you feel like you’ve just walked into a friend’s (very chic) home. In the center of the store, a table overflowing with stunning jewelry—delicate, edgy, everyday pieces. And the clothes? A mix of unique yet totally wearable brands you NEED to know about. Thinking Mu’s Manolita  trousers? Life-changing. It’s 9PM’s co-ords? Out-of-this-world! 

Make a day of it, after browsing D.A.Y, grab a coffee at The Victoria and, if you’re feeling peckish, treat yourself to Artusi's ridiculously good Italian fusion food. You won’t regret it.

North London’s Hidden Treasure: The W Store

Now, let’s head north to a little pedestrian road in Walthamstow. I stumbled upon this gem recently, and let me tell you, it looks straight out of a rom-com. Before diving into the shopping, grab some gorgeous macarons from The Little Mandarin, arguably the best in London. 

Now, onto the main event, The W Store. This place is packed with beautifully curated gifts, homeware, and, of course, some seriously stylish fashion finds. If you need a gift for anyone (mum, bestie, yourself), you’ll find it here. The Pearl Pink Jug from &Klevering? Dreamy. But the true star? The clothes. They stock Stella Nova - aka, the co-ord queens. I once had the pleasure of meeting the designer behind it all, and let’s just say, she gets what women actually want to wear. No fast fashion nonsense, just timeless, high-quality pieces you’ll wear forever. 

And when you’re all shopped out? The Queen’s Arms pub on the corner is the perfect spot for a celebratory drink, a pint or a refreshing lemonade. That one is just for me! 

Stoke Newington’s Best-Kept Secret: Hilda

Next stop: Stoke Newington. I was casually wandering down Church Street when I stumbled upon Hilda - and wow, what a find. Walking in feels like stepping into the most perfectly curated fashion dreamland. This store gets fashion. Every single piece is handpicked, every brand tells a story, and Charlotte (the genius behind it all) makes you feel like she’s styling you personally. Whether it’s shoes, accessories, or clothes, everything here is special. It’s one of those places where you leave feeling elevated, like you just unlocked a whole new level of style. 

Once you’re done swooning over the clothes, refuel with some carbs. Spence Bakery is where it’s at, and if you don’t try the Beetroot & Three Seed Sourdough, you’re missing out. It’s nutty, seedy, earthy perfection.
